About Listing Image Checker

This site does one thing. It reads a product photo’s real pixel dimensions, real file size and real background colour, compares them against the published image rules of the marketplace you are listing on, and tells you which single number is failing.

Why a checker instead of another converter

There are hundreds of free image converters, and none of them answer the question a seller actually has: why was my listing rejected? Most platforms answer with something vague — “image not accepted” — and leave you guessing between six possible causes. Converting the file does not help if you do not know which rule you broke.

Nothing is uploaded

Decoding, measuring and re-encoding all happen inside your browser using the Canvas API. There is no upload endpoint, no queue, no temporary copy on a server. A photo of an unreleased product never leaves the machine it is sitting on, and the tool keeps working on a slow connection once the page has loaded.

Where the numbers come from

Every specification is traced to the platform’s own seller documentation, not to a third-party blog post. Each platform page shows the date it was last checked and links to the official help page it was checked against. When two sources disagree, the platform’s own documentation wins.

Platform rules change without announcement. If you find a number here that is out of date, email support@listingimagecheck.xyz and it gets corrected — the specification pages are the part of this site that has to stay accurate.

What it deliberately will not do

It will not upscale a 300 px photo into a sharp 2000 px one, and it will not pretend a grey background is white. If the only real fix is to reshoot or re-export the image, the checker says so instead of producing a file that will be rejected anyway. A passing score here means the file meets the measurable rules — it is not a guarantee that a human reviewer will approve the listing.

How it is funded

An optional one-time Pro purchase raises the batch limit. No advertising network, no data broker, no affiliate links disguised as recommendations. See the pricing page for what Pro includes.

Listing Image Checker is an independent tool and is not affiliated with Etsy, eBay, Amazon or Shopify. Platform names are used descriptively to identify which set of rules is being checked.
